Podcast: Cairney Kick It?

22nd October 2021

After 288 days and 38 matches on the sidelines, it took just twelve minutes of Tom Cairney being on the pitch before he smacked in Fulham’s opener from range against a dogged Cardiff City on Wednesday night. We react to the emotional celebrations on the pitch and in the stand following the skipper’s left-foot bullet.

Afterwards we review the rest of the match, as Mitrovic scored (again) and FFC kept their first clean sheet in seven league matches.

In part two, we discuss Harrison Reed’s game adaptation from a number 6 to a driving 8, partially caused by the unexpected return of Jean Michael-Seri. We ask what the future holds for the 26 year old, and whether the rise of Kalvin Philips to international stardom might provide a bit of inspiration for the midfield dynamo.

Finally, Peter gives an update on Fulham vaccine take-up and we preview Sunday’s trip to the in-form Nottingham Forest.
