Podcast: Amex Penalty Fee

10th March 2025

A nice sunny afternoon was ruined by a last-minute Joao Pedro penalty that secured Brighton a 2-1 victory over Fulham. An important fixture in the wider European discussion saw Brighton edge Fulham to snatch a handy point away from their finger tips.

George is joined on the pod by Dan Cooke, Issy Barker and Jack Stroudly to run over where Fulham fell below par on Saturday afternoon. They reflect on whether Silva’s decision to set-up with a back five restricted our attacking drive, only managing a goal against the run of play and from a magical Iwobi moment. Emile Smith Rowe’s form remains in the conversation as his lack of progression begins to frustrate. Where does this missed opportunity for a point leave Fulham in the European picture and are we getting too ahead of ourselves in our ambition’s for the team?

In part two, they answer some of your listener questions. Would Godo and King have provided some youthful spark to the final stages of the game and are we seeing a Pereira redemption arc?
