Before The Whistle: Fulham v Leicester City
7th May 2023
Fulham v Leicester City | Mon 3.00PM | Premier League
This is the first of a string of three games against sides below us – but this is probably the trickiest.
Silva made five changes to the starting XI against Liverpool. Granted, two of those were forced, with Ream and Andreas out for the season, but Soares, Lukic and Vinicius coming in for Tete, Reed and De Cordova-Reid showed a desire to shake things up tactically.
Lukic and Vini impressed, with Soares having a solid, but less impressive outing. So, it’s anyone’s guess if Silva will stick or twist for Leicester.
Though we’re above the Foxes in the table, we’ve fared similarly over the last six games. But Leicester will have a lot more to play for.
The former Premier League champions and FA Cup winners sit outside the relegation zone on goal difference, with tough games against Liverpool, Newcastle and West Ham after their trip to Craven Cottage. You’ve got to think Dean Smith will have impressed the importance of winning this one.
As far as the Whites are concerned, we need eight points out of a possible 12 to equal our best-ever Premier League points tally. It’s a tough ask, and one that becomes almost impossible if we lose on Monday. Hopefully that doesn’t happen. You Whites.
