Before The Whistle: Aston Villa v Fulham
Written by Drew Heatley on 10th November 2023
It’s a tough one this weekend against one of the league’s in-form sides. Everything seems to be falling into place at Villa Park – and they’re looking for their 13th straight win there. Unlucky for some – but will it be unlucky for us?
One man who’s certainly unlucky is Rodrigo Muniz. Silva says the Brazillian will be out of action for three-to-four weeks after her came off last weekend. It remains to be seen who’ll replace him up top.
There was a slightly different make-up to our midfield against Man United; Silva must decide whether he wants Lukic or Reed to return alongside Joao Palhinha, or whether Iwobi will continue in that role. Regardless, the Nigerian international must retain a place in the XI.
Elsewhere, Kenny Tete was pictured in training this week and Silva hinted he might make the squad, but it’s doubtful he dislodges Castagne, who has impressed in his absence. In a welcome boost, Silva also said Adama and Tosin may also be nearing returns.
This is the last fixture before yet another international break. Bar trips to Anfield and St. James’ Park, our December fixtures are looking more forgiving – but the pressure is on to gather some points, or the complexion of this season starts to look very different.
