Before The Whistle: West Ham United v Fulham
Written by Drew Heatley on 12th April 2024
Another weekend, another chance to plump up our flaccid away record in the Premier League.
The Whites travel to the London Stadium on Sunday to face a West Ham side that lost 2-0 in the Europa League on Thursday night to Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen. That’ll hurt the Hammers, but they’re having a good season; seventh in the league and in the quarterfinals of Europe’s second-most prestigious tournament. David Moyes has long put to bed any questions about his credentials.
That’s all to say that it will be a tough encounter in East London – and we’re not in the best vein of form right now. Marco Silva rung the changes against Newcastle last weekend, bringing Castagne, Cairney and Willian back into the starting XI. It was an improvement on the nightmare in Nottingham, but that bar was pretty low.
There are increasing calls to give Adama a crack from the start, which is the only real change I can see occurring. There’s no way we’ll drop March’s Premier League Player of the Month!
We seem to hit the beach when we get within touching distance of 40 points. It’s time to shake the sand out of our ears and move forward. You Whites.
