Is Antonee Robinson one of Fulham’s best value-for-money signings?

Before our Premier League season under Scott Parker’s stewardship, Fulham made many shrewd signings for eyebrow raisingly-small fees in contrast to the big-money, and ultimately wasteful, scattergun pick-ups following promotion under Slavisa Jokanovic. Both Tosin Adarabiayo and Kenny Tete were signed for roughly £2m, but Antonee Robinson, who was signed for even less that fee, has perhaps proved to be the most successful of the lot.
Free and easy
Robinson’s athleticism has been out of this world since joining the club. He’s bombed up and down the wings so fast and so often it forced Jacob Murphy to jokingly beg him to stop. This speed has just one factor in Antonee racking up two goals, nine assists, and 21 clean sheets in 108 appearances. Some of Robinson’s most impressive stats come in the tackling and interceptions department, with 182 interceptions in the Premier League with Fulham and 145 successful tackles out of 232 , giving him a 62% success rate.
Robinson’s always been a forward thinking modern full-back, accompanied by some impressive centre-backs in his time at Fulham, most recently of course in the form of Joachim Andersen. Out of his passes, he has made 1,808 forward passes, 797 backward passes and a pass completion rate of 76.51%, showing the freedom that he has especially under Marco Silva’s stewardship.
Not all plain sailing
Robinson’s time in SW6 hasn’t been without its struggles, however. He’s had his bad moments, with various dips in form that have forced fans to question whether he should be dropped. Robinson has scored two own goals and two errors leading to a goal, with some of those incidents due to his his struggles on his weaker right foot.
Although this has hampered some of his performances, as well as a lack of concentration sometimes when the team have conceded, the previous stats show a very good for any player in the Premier League, let alone one signed for £1.5m. It makes for a refreshing change in comparison to some full-back performances for the club in our other recent Premier League escapades.
