Before The Whistle: Fulham v Wolverhampton Wanderers

Written by Drew Heatley on 22nd November 2024

Right, now that latest inconvenience is over with, let’s get back to the matter at hand.

We’re having a great season so far. We’re on a decent run, looking for our third win in a row. We’re even joint-second for form across the last six games. Life is good.

You’d be forgiven for assuming life is going to get even better, with Wolves visiting the Cottage. Gary O’Neil’s men are 19th in the Premier League with just one win to their name.

But we know that’s not the full story. That W came in their last game, and followed two consecutive draws, indicating that they’re on the rise – and what’s more dangerous than a Wolf on the attack?

Yet another international break muddies the waters of squad availability – but the headline news is that Sasa Lukic returns from his shoulder injury. Things have changed since the Serb’s solid start, so he’s not guaranteed to dislodge Sander Berge.

Harry Wilson continued his recent form, this time in a Wales shirt, and though he’s not likely to start, he’ll be hoping to pick up where he left off, with three goals in his last two Fulham games.

We didn’t return from the last international break very well – Saturday presents an opportunity to right that wrong. If we do, we could find ourselves quite high up the table indeed. Something to get excited about. You Whites.
