Before The Whistle: Liverpool v Fulham
Written by Drew Heatley on 13th December 2024
There are no easy games in the Premier League. But there are plenty of hard ones – and Liverpool at Anfield may be top of that list.
We head to the league leaders without a glut of first-team players. Joachim Andersen is still injured, and Calvin Bassey is suspended, so we’ll have a makeshift central defensive pairing of Issa Diop and Jorge Cuenca, who’s set for his first league start.
In the middle Harrison Reed’s still injured and Tom Cairney remains suspended after his red card at Spurs, depleting our options off the bench.
Marco Silva also revealed that Reiss Nelson could be out for up to 10 weeks, in a huge blow for our attacking options. Expect Adama Traore to remain in position for this trip, though Harry Wilson will be keen to get one over his former employers.
The odds certainly seem stacked against us, but I’m sure we’re all savvy enough by now not to bet against Marco’s boys. A point or more would not only strengthen our chase for Europe, it’d throw the cat amongst the pigeons in the title race, too. Wouldn’t that be fun? You Whites.
