Before The Whistle: Fulham v Nottingham Forest

There’s nothing like a bit of jealousy to put some needle in a fixture.

We’re all looking at Nottingham Forest this season and thinking “What if that was us?” – and many are thinking it should be us. But alas, it’s the Tricky Trees that are proving a tricky proposition for the Premier League and are firmly entrenched in the Champions League places.

That said, we continue to enjoy some decent results against Forest, most recently ending their unbeaten start to this campaign back in September. That didn’t derail them, but it shows that we are more than capable of getting another win on Saturday.

It’ll be back to full strength after a much changed XI took to the field against Wigan in the FA Cup last weekend. But I for one wouldn’t be surprised to see Rodrigo Muniz lead the line as Marco continues to shuffle his nines.

After a strong performance at the Brick Community Stadium, Ryan Sessegnon will be knocking on Silva’s door, even if only metaphorically. Though our left side is very established, we could well see him get some minutes. Willian will also be in contention as he targets his latest re-introduction to the Cottage.

A result on Saturday would show emphatically that our own European aspirations are far from extinguished. That’s all the impetus we need. You Whites.
