Five Thoughts

Five Thoughts: Crystal Palace 2-0 Fulham

Gravity's a killer. Sniped from a great height by Roy Hodgson's Crystal Palace, Claudio Ranieri's Fulham swiftly reacquainted themselves with the earth's crust after sidling through a Premier League fixture that they simply had to win or draw at the very least. We thought that we'd turned a corner following Tuesday's heroics against Brighton & Hove Albion, but this campaign evidently has many chicanes to scale in Nürburgring proportions.

4th February 2019

Five Thoughts: Fulham 4-2 Brighton & Hove Albion

If you were chilled to the bone on the way up to Craven Cottage on Tuesday evening, I bet you were glowing with a fizzing sense of delight on the journey back to your homes after witnessing what was undoubtedly one of the most exhilarating encounters our grand, alluring stadium has hosted in recent years. Claudio Ranieri was spouting a lot of tosh about change, wasn’t he?

30th January 2019

Five Thoughts: Fulham 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur

Normality painfully resumed down by the river and what a thunderous jab in the gut that is to announce. Harry haunts the Cottage once again, and it's not even the usual suspect, either. Tottenham Hotspur, depleted and diminished, still managed to march away from the banks of the Thames with three points in their back pocket, but it's the manner in which we gifted them the spoils that stings the most.

20th January 2019

Five Thoughts: Burnley 2-1 Fulham

The Turf Moor curse continues. Fulham have not won at Burnley since 1951 and the omens weren't positive before kick-off, although we understood how imperative a victory was. Train strikes, driving rain, our 1,000-plus faithful intrepidly trudged t'north to lift Claudio Ranieri's men towards a mythological victory. But football's a cruel, unforgiving game, isn't it?

13th January 2019

Five Thoughts: Arsenal 4-1 Fulham

Not quite the start to 2019 that we were hoping for as the clock struck 12 on New Year's Day, but it certainly wasn't your typical 4-1 drubbing by any stretch of the hungover imagination. The score line often speaks for itself, but Claudio Ranieri's Whites charged from the traps and poked and prodded Unai Emery's Arsenal from the off.

2nd January 2019

Five Thoughts: Fulham 1-0 Huddersfield Town

Limbs. We knew before kick-off that a victory against Huddersfield Town was compulsory and we reached our primary objective at the death. Drama. It wasn't our finest performance whatsoever, that's for certain, although when there's so much at stake, with both camps scrapping for the spoils, sometimes you have to win ugly, really ugly.

30th December 2018

Five Thoughts: Fulham 1-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Is it me, or did that feel like a bitter defeat at the final whistle? Couldn't help the sour tang, but now that the dust, as well as our stomachs, has settled, Boxing Day's 1-1 draw against Nuno Espírito Santo's highly-organised Wolverhampton Wanderers now leaves an intriguingly sweet aftertaste on the pallet, with just a smidgen of apprehension and disappointment.

28th December 2018

Five Thoughts: Newcastle United 0-0 Fulham

We did it. We actually kept a clean sheet in the Premier League. Drink it in, we're an unwavering defensive collective and there's nothing in existence that can breach us. Well, maybe I'm being a tad hasty, but Saturday's 0-0 draw against Newcastle United proved that Claudio Ranieri's operation is drifting in the right direction.

23rd December 2018

Five Thoughts: Fulham 0-2 West Ham United

Damp, dreary, dismal, and I'm not talking about the blessed weather, either. Following our deflating 4-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United, a reinvigorated reaction was desperately required against an in-form West Ham United, but what we were cursed with, sodden through to the bone on a blustery Saturday evening, a vastly uninspired Fulham that are completely devoid of confidence, spirit and leadership.

17th December 2018

Five Thoughts: Manchester United 4-1 Fulham

The result genuinely speaks for itself, loud and clear. What a dismal afternoon Fulham stumbled through at the Theatre of Dreams, or chilling nightmares, against Jose Mourinho's Manchester United, who leisurely coasted through proceedings in cruise control. Needless to add, but it was also United's biggest home victory of the campaign.

9th December 2018

Five Thoughts: Fulham 1-1 Leicester City

What an exhilarating encounter we had on Wednesday evening down by the river, under the lights, against one of Claudio Ranieri's former employers, Leicester City. Following Sunday's raucous away support that shook Stamford Bridge, Craven Cottage was literally bouncing. Well, the Hammersmith End definitely swayed and oscillated wildly, that's for sure.

6th December 2018

Five Thoughts: Chelsea 2-0 Fulham

If you cup your hand around your ear and listen hard enough, you can still hear a cacophony of glorious Fulham chants reverberate through various nooks, crannies and artisan nonsense shops in SW6, all thanks to you, the Whites' ardent, unwavering, irrepressible faithful. Cam Ramsey takes a look back.

4th December 2018

Five Thoughts: Fulham 3-2 Southampton

No, it's not a typo, Fulham actually defeated Mark Hughes' Southampton 3-2 at Craven Cottage to register our first win since our 4-2 triumph over Burnley in September. Cam Ramsey breaks five points out of the much-needed victory.

22nd November 2018

Five Thoughts: Liverpool 2-0 Fulham

It's a sixth consecutive defeat, but room for optimism as the Whites showed some fight at Anfield on Sunday. Cam Ramsey shares his five thoughts from the match.

12th November 2018

Five Thoughts: Huddersfield Town 1-0 Fulham

It was a desperate evening at the John Smith's Stadium, as Fulham dropped to the foot of the Premier League table. Cam Ramsey gives his five thoughts on Monday's defeat.

7th November 2018

Five Thoughts: Fulham 0-3 Bournemouth

It was another tough afternoon for Fulham on Saturday, as Bournemouth were the latest team to give the Whites a pasting. Here are Cam Ramsey's five thoughts following the defeat.

29th October 2018

Five Thoughts: Cardiff City 4-2 Fulham

It was another miserable afternoon for Fulham on Saturday, as Neil Warnock's Cardiff side doubled their goals tally for the season against our porous defence. Here are Cam Ramsey's five thoughts following this latest defeat.

22nd October 2018

Five Thoughts: Fulham 1-5 Arsenal

It's always difficult to put things into perspective immediately after a crushing home defeat, even if it is to a very good side on the up who will undoubtedly challenge for the Top Four this season.
